The Dengue IgG Test, also known as the Immunoglobulin G Test, is used to find Dengue virus IgG antibodies. This test typically serves as a screening tool and yields an early assessment of any previous or ongoing dengue virus infection. High IgG dengue virus antibody counts are a hallmark of secondary dengue infections.
The levels rise for about 7 days, reaching their peak in the second week. It lasts 90 days in the blood. However, it might stay with some people for the rest of their lives. If IgG is positive but IgM is negative, the individual has previously had a dengue infection.
